Don't you have to have the LLC in place before you apply for an EIN?
The application form calls for legal name, trade name, and entity type. Call the IRS assistance number given with the SS-4 online application and one of the customer service representatives will guide you through the process.
They can even fill out the form and issue you an EIN over the phone.
