What Is An APN Number?

i'm purchasing a propety sub-to, can anyone tell me what an APN number is?....what does this stand for?

    you find find the APN on the seller's tax records or County Recorders Office.

    The APN is the way the city is broken up for tax reasons.

    If you have a block of houses, the APN might look like this

    54-138-001
    54-138-002
    54-138-003
    54-138-004

    The 54 would be the page number in the hard copy books. The 138 would be the section specified in the books, and the 001-004 would be the actual plot numbers...make sense?

    Check with your couthouse. My state doesn't use APN, they use PIDN. It's just a number assigned to that deed or property so they can look it up easier.
