Proof Of Funds?

On a short sale when the lender accepts full payoff does the lender require a prequal letter in your name or cash on hand proof? or it doesnt matter if you dont have proof?

Sometimes they will ask for proof of funds but not always. You can always have a friend put something on an official looking letterhead as your "proof". Whooops, did I say that? 8-)

I would not recommend falsifying a proof of funds letter, as an investor your reputation will be one of your most valuable assets.

    JohnMichael,

Good point. I meant a friend that could actually fund it (cash IRA, etc).
