Ocwen- Charging $200.00 To Start?

Ocwen is charging $200.00 review fee just to start the short sale process, has anyone ever heard of this? Anyone have anyone ever heard of this? SHortsales pro , what do you think? cool grin

    Since the advent of reducing the art of short sale proposal and negotiation and acquisition to a boilerplate process, "let's throw it against the wall and lets see what sticks" .. lenders are overwhelmed by ill-conceived and unsupported proposals... which take man hours to review, and respond to.

    Since they are in the business to make money, my guess is that the $200 covers their out of pocket costs for man hours, and for a BPO.

    If your SS candidate has been prequalified as meeting basic criteria for short sale consideration, and the Proposal is both feasible and well supported, I don't think that your $200 will be at risk.

    However, if your proposal lacks esential elements, foundation, factual data, and credibility... Consider the $200 your tuition.

    Please keep us posted on the Ocwen process. I just got off the phone with Ocwen (doing my first initial call that I always do)and was told a SS was highly unlikely. I was told that Ocwen was sure of their position at the auction (we know the market and know this property will go back to the plantiff) and there is no need to deal with them. If we want the property we did to purchase it from the homeowners for full payoff...

    Prove it. In a fully supported and documented Short Sale Proposal.

    In your Executive Summary, list 5 reasons why they should jump at your Proposal.

    If it's factual, and compelling, they'll move it up the foodchain to the decision makers.

    Thanks, you've encouraged me to press on...sometimes it's hard to determine when to push versus when it's not worth your time and better to move on to the next deal.
