How To Contact The Bank?
Hi there, I am new to SSing, how do you find the contact information for the bank.
Also, do I need the loan number before I speak with them? How do I find the loan number? I've looked at the deeds office and some docs have it, others don't.

In order to speak directly with the bank you must have a signed Mortgage Information Release Authorization from the homeowner. The loan number and the lender's contact information should be provided by the homeowner as well.

Do you know if I can speak to the bank about general issues like how/when do they determine abandonment and such. Ya know, questions that are not specific to any property in particular.

I think your best bet is to stay with specific property information. Once you have a relationship with the loss mitigation rep, you can get the rest of the information you need. It sounds like you could also use a some course material. Dwan Bent-Twyford and Sharon Restrepo have a great SS course.
