Couple Initial Questions....

NYC_SS profile photo

I am new to SS and have spent the last couple days reading the forum. I have many questions but these will be my first:

What do you bring when your meeting a home owner for the first time(pen, pad, etc.)?

Also What do you ask the home owner to have ready for you to see when you get to thier house?

and, I have looked but I dont remeber seeing a checklist of questions that you ask the home owner when he first calls you. Can some one(or a few people) post questions that you ask when the owner calls you? I know there are a few basic questions to guage how "motivated" they are, but I was looking for deeper questions I should ask.

I appreciate any and all help you guys can provide me.

Adam

    Can anyone help?

I think that nobody responded because your questions are just too basic in nature... do you have any sales, and/or real estate/financial experience? Have you read any books or articles on real estate speculation?

Do you have or have you given any thought to writing a business plan?

To have some idea of what your dealing w/ I would ask property details such as beds/baths/sf/garage/basement etc. Also, find out what the situation is, foreclosure, relocation etc. This will give you an idea of what the deal looks like. If you receive good info and the property is in good condition and your comps are at 100k and they need 70k to get out I would go further. Good luck.
