Wholesaling In MI

cgarback profile photo

I'm new in the REI biz and am looking for my first home to wholesale. I recently spoke to an attorney here in Michigan, and he told me that he thought that wholesaling had to be illegal since I'm not a licensed realtor. I've heard from others that I don't have to be licensed to flip without taking ownership (just getting an assignment fee for bringing the seller and buyer together). Who's right? :-?

Find a new attorney. You can sell just about anything you want to, whether you take title or not.

Where in Michigan are you? There are bunch of us from the Rich Dad Poor Dad RE investing forums that get together once a month around Lansing (I think we meet in Howell this month)....you should check us out.
