Unusual Sound When Toilet Is Flushed

alegrier profile photo

Hello Friends,

One of my tenants has made me aware that when she flushes the toilet there is a lound noise coming from the pipes. It lasts for about 45 seconds then it stops. Her 2 year daughter is scared of the noise. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? What would you suggest?

I thought you were going to say they could hear a marching band play or something.

I'm starting to feel like those "car talk" guys on NPR.

    "Can you describe the sound?"

Sounds a bit like there is air in the waste pipes. Have they been set up to include a vent stack?

A call to a plumber should quickly identify the issue.
