The Cost To Level Sagging Floors?

geispc27 profile photo

Hello,

I am considering buying a fixer-upper but the floors are sagging very badly. As I have never dealt with fixing sagging floors, what is the general cost to level floors? Is this a major expense (several thousand dollars) or a minor expense under $1000 dollars?

For specs, the house has a crawl space under it with dirt floors.

Thanks!

Peter

Peter you have to find out what has caused the floors to sag. Foundation problems, soil problems, framing, infestation ect.

Because getting them level and keeping them level may be 2 different things

If this is something you are unable to do on your own, you should try to get someone out to take a look at the house that jacks buildings and get an evaluation/estimate so you at least know what you are up against.

If its in need of a new lally columb or 2, it would cost you under $100 + your labor. If the foundation is crumbleing it will be a lot more.

    Good Luck
