Termites

A house we're rehabbing has been damaged by termites, but has been tented to get rid of the bad guys. It has hardwood floors that are beyond repair, so we'll be carpeting over them (something I hate to do, by the way) and the floors are pretty creaky. What do I do to get rid of the creaky feeling? Also, how do I assess the damage the termites have made? It's a cute house with good curb appeal, but my husband's worried about potential buyers noticing the uneveness of the house due to settling, and undoubtedly, termites.

Any help is appreciated!
