Rehabs And In Ground Pools

WGA profile photo

I am considering rehabbing a house with an in ground cement pool that is in terrible condition and maybe even cracked. I have considered just filling in the pool with dirt and being done with it. Has anyone ever dealt with pool issues?

we did a couple of rehabs that had pools - in FL I would get a couple of quotes before filling in a pool - pool repair, even fixing a leak, is not as costly as you might imagine. Pools clean up pretty easy.

If you do fill it in, be sure you knock lots of holes through the bottom or you will have a swamp in your back yard...

Many communities require a permit to fill in a pool, so you may want to check with your local building dept. before you do anything.
