Rehabbers Insurance In CALIFORNIA

MattN profile photo

I've tried Foremost and a few other places, but no one is offering insurance on vacant SFR dwelling in CA.
Anyone have a company they would suggest?

Thanks!

If you are rehabbing, ask for a Builder Risk or Course of Construction Policy. A Local Borker May provide that for you.

Like dbuddha said. Don't go to your local insurance agency. you need to go to a property/casualty broker whose independant from one particular company.

    good luck

We have had no problems in the past with obtaining construction insurance. The only problem we did have was once in the hillside area of Hollywood. No it was not the local inhabitants they were nervous about it was the Fire Risk, so we went Calif. Fair Plan. We fudged a bit I put an Airstream at the curb, tied into the sewer and wa wa and damn I wanted to move in myself. We kept a very happy Okie type job supervisor there for the five months of construction. Should have see that puppy swaying away one night when we came by to inspect. Of course the minute we approached the sensors went off, all the lights went on. He came to the door and introduced us to his Maiden Aunt. lovely lady had the ultimate skill, mixed a mean Martini. First time I ever saw a mature slightly bookish lady wearing her slacks on backwards. Interesting...

    With Affection Lucius
