Ozone Machine

JasonCowan profile photo

I am currently in the market for an ozone machine. For all of you who own one or who have used one, what size should I get. I am going to be using it on my personal residence in the basement. So time isn't a factor. From what I have read, about any size machine can treat any size room if kept running for long enough. Is that true...? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

An ozone machine will removed odors, kill mildew, and mold.

Look in the "Products" tab on the top of this page. Air purifiers are there, with explanations.

Be careful...ozone machines can be killers...they can kill plants, pets & possibly humans...they should not be used in occupied premises....they are, however great for getting rid of all odors, mildew , fungus & mold...also, after ozone treatment the air within needs to be refreshed with an air freshner of some type...plug-ins will do...regards, CWal

CWAL is right... I believe they do work well at clearing out any kinds of odors once the source has been eliminated. The EPA has big hazard warnings about using them in an occupied area. Lots of reading can be had on the net just do a google search. THere are some members that use them and have great results. I almost bought one when I did a rehab on a house that had human urine problems but luckily I was able to replace the carpet and scrub the concrete slab with a bleach then simple green and the odor was gone. It was an incontinent elderly ladies bedroom...nasty...glad that house wasn't on a crawl space or probably would have had to replace the floor and maybe the joists!

The machines work great. Not just in houses, but in cars as well. But the ozone kills stuff...sometimes even bugs.

Is an ozone machine safe to use in a vacant condo or townhome?
I.e., is it hazardous for the adjoining residents?

Mike...there should not be any ill effects to neighbors as long as ventilation systems are separate...CWal
