There was an article in "new york times" about a realtor who was puting prefabricated log cabins in a back of her rental properties and renting them for singnificantly higher price. The cabin was used as a guest house, pool house, or shed. I know a guy who imports cabins like that from europe. They look exeptionaly good and his asking price is $8900 for a 12x16 cabin, plus porch. Its very nice. From ehat I understand it would really be a great selling point and would increase the value of the property. Ehat the rest of you think? ...I can email you some pictures, if you would like to see them.

As a Realtor, I can tell you I have very few clients who want a log cabin in their backyard.
Maybe in the right setting for the right client but I think the $ would be better spent in updating kitchens and baths or adding finished square footage to the
    house.
