Is It Possible To Make A Good Living Rehabbing Fixer-uppers In Expensive Markets Like California?

poopyhead profile photo

I am currently in my second last year of high school and am very interested in real estate. I live in Toronto, Canada and plan on attending university here before moving somewhere a bit warmer and hopefully getting a job doing something in real estate and starting a rehab business on the side. I hope that I can eventually get to the point where this can be my main source of income. My question is, what do you think the California real estate market will be like in 10-15 years, and do you think i will be wasting my time in such an expensive market??? Should I stick with a cheaper area like the south where it will be easy to find good deals or is it just as possible to make a living doing it in expensive areas? Please explain why or why not.

Thanks in advance.

I admire the fact that you want to find out more about REI...........however presenting yourself in a professional manner will speak volumes to others.

If you want to be taken seriously in this forum then you need to change your name to reflect such.....

Sorry, at the time I created the account I figured that I would not be doing any posting and therefore my name would not matter.

The original metal firebox has a U.L. approval.
If you modify it with other stuff, you are now an engineer, responsible for the performance of your design.
    Can you say, "L-I-A-B-I-L-I-T-Y?"

Might be a budget buster, but get it done right.
