How To Find Clean Out Access

tom7w profile photo

I hope somebody give me a tip for finding the drain pipe clean out access around the house.

I spend two days digging, tapping around the house, but cannot feel where is the clean out access for the drain sewer line. I am about to pick up the phone and call the plumber now.

Anybody has a tip/trick or hints looking for the clean out of the drain/sewer line, please help.

Depends on when it was built and what codes were in effect, there may not be one.
I have seen them under the house in crawl spaces and in basements at the y junction to the street.

European style boxes vs American style boxes is what this comes down to right?

Just did an Ikea kitchen in a rental. Looks great and was easy. The staff helped with design and layout. Just make sure the off the rack boxes are not damaged or previously opened. I have heard from a full time Ikea installer that homeowners will scratch/damage a cabinet and seal the box so it looks unopened and return. It gets restocked and you waste your time returning to the store to exchange.

To the point, no one cares about the construction of the cabinets when purchasing. They just want ones that look great! So, get good doors and face frames and the cabinets can fall apart in 5-7 year after you have sold them. I am spending 1200-2200 per kitchen on cabinets that are knotty alder, finger jointed drawers and look pretty decent.
