foundation repair

hello all

First time facing a foundation repair in a property I do have an engineer report already. Do I need city permit for this and/or an ispection?
I'll appreciate an advice in this matter.

    Hey Pederolo,

Check with your local building inspection department. The will probably want to check it to ensure the work is done according to the engineer specs.

    Good luck

why wake the inspector repair as needed prior to inspection you could be opening a bad box of worms some city inspectors can and will condemn for this reason we do not live in a perfect or fair world you gotta fight this is like a traffic cop pulling you over for speeding and you ask while talking hey is it okay that i have this loaded gun here in my front seat good luck

    Pedrolo,

Hire a licensed, bonded, and insured professional to do any major repair work. They will be responsible for getting all necessary permits and inspections, and they will also be liable should anything go wrong.

I really appreciate everyone's input. The egineer report that I have I got it from the seller from whom I got the property from and at that point it was a great help to get the deal as cheap as I could. Now my strategy is use it as a reference when I get a contractor to do the job, so it'll tells me if they are goin on the right track. What would you all think about this?

    Good Afternoon...

I noticed that you mentioned foundation repair... First of all, before any of us can make a judgement or an opinion, we have to know what type of repair that you will need... If it is heavy foundation repair that truly effects the structure, then by all means get some professionals in there...

But honestly you should check with at least two or three professionals in your area before you talk to the local code guys, because as the other gentleman mentioned, the world isn't right and or fair all of the time and you may open yourself up to even more problems if you talk to them before a GOOD building/repair professional... Depending upon the type of repair(s) necessary, the Building professional may not even need to pull a permit and that would save you a couple of headaches...

    Good Luck and Good Rehabbing..
