Fixing Lose Floor Tiles

WGA profile photo

Anyone know of a way to adhere floor tiles back down to the slab without actually taking the tile out. Problem is I bought a house with a good tile floor in the kitchen but some of the tiles are lose (the hollow sound). Taking them out and restting them would be fine but there are no extra tiles at the house and I am sure that some may break during the removal process. I have looked at various tile stores but the tile is likely discontinued because I cannot find a match. I saw a product on the internet that is injected under the tile and acts like a glue but I am not sure if it actually works.

It is worth a try. The alternative is replacing the entire floor at $4 or $5 per sq. ft. minimum.

can you glue from underneath w/ cracking the tile?

"inject it" at cracking the grout?

sort of in reverse, we had a drooping ceiling in a bath and access to the joist from the adjacent furnace room, we squirted in gorilla glue and the use broom stick to hold up the ceiling.[ Edited by cjmazur on Date 02/27/2009 ]
