Cost To Replacing Electric Furnace With Gas Furnace?

yan9993 profile photo

I am looking at a house built at late 1970’s when my area was in a shortage of gas. So most houses had electric furnaces. My question is how much it normally cost to replace it with a gas furnace for a 2000 sq house (the house does has central air)?

thank you in advance

    There are 3 issues.

    1) The price of the furnace - probably $2000 give or take $2000.

    2) Is there currently gas ran to the house now? Are their other gas appliances such as a gas hot water heater?
    a) The cost of bringing gas to the furnace
    b) Venting the furnace

My advise - let your fingers do the walking and get some HVAC experts out there to give you an idea of what you are looking at. Free estimates = free education
