Contracts For The Contractor

pghinvestor profile photo

I am looking for any and all recommendations of resources where I can get contracts to protect me in all the ways that need to be a concern when dealing with Contractors.

Anyone know of any books, websites, or other resources that I can get well written contracts that I could use or customize when dealing with contractors??

There are numerous programs out there including ones you can download off the net, however any and all contracts should be reviewed by an attorney in your area.

One thing you should realize if you find yourself dealing with a really good contractor, he is going to supply you with HIS contract and it most likely will not be open for negotiation in regard to changes.

The important points of the contract will be the payment schedule, hidden defects, change orders, permits, customer responsibilities, warranty and of course resolution procedures.
