Contacting Investor

In doing some research at the registry of deeds, I have found a nearby investor who has been very busy over the last couple years with the type of rehabs I am interested in. I don't know any other investors in my area and would like to be able to talk to someone with experience. I am considering writing this person to see if she would be willing to talk to me about her projects etc. I'm just wondering if she would be willing to do this or if she would see me as competition. Any of you ever do this? What kind of response did you get?

Have you considered joining the local REI club?
I don't know what kind of person he his, he may or may not share information with you, but yes you are his competition. when at an REI meeting, I tend to look for the older gentlemen in the crowd, who have been there and done that. Some are nearing the point where they've done enough and are slowing down, and they love to talk, especially to "kids". Although I'm 33, they still look at me like I'm a "kid". People like kids.
