Is there a specific brand of carpet that anyone would reccommend? I need to carpet a 1100 sq ft house and I don't want to do anything really fancy. Just plain carpet.
I purchase all my carpet from Prosource. They are a wholesale company and will sell to you if you tell them you are a property manager.
For cheap carpet I recommend Dyersberg II 29oz poly by Shaw. Roll price is $5.78/yd + 6# pad at $1.71/yd. That is 83 cents a square foot! I pay $3.50/yd for installation.
I get commercial grade carpet remnants at a local place for 49 cents a sq ft. With pad and installed runs about $1.00 a sq ft. That's using a carpet guy I know, not the store installing it

Home Depot or Lowes I use I go look in the remmant section first to see what is there. ALso Odd lots has remmants now too.

Stone Mountain is where I buy. You can buy an inexpensive carpet but put a good pad under it.
