Banking -- Local Or National
I have never really considered the type of bank I used as being important. A friend of mine told me (he does not work in REI) that I should use a local, community bank because once you have a checking and savings account with them for a while, they will be more apt to give you better rates on loans and maybe even call you up with their repos.
Anyone have any advice on this? Anyone use both in the past and notice a difference? Is it worth it?

I like how friendly credit unions are, which typically are local.
Find a buddy who knows how to work on painting cars and have him slap some bondo and sand them down then paint.
