Stay In NYC For Less Than $170/night?
I think that I am going to go to that real estate expo or whatever that was previously advertised on here. The problem is that little old me from Iowa thinks that $170/night for a 1.5 star hotel is crazy. I am looking to stay in the midtown/grand central station area. Will it take long to travel if I stay farther away? You guys may laugh but I've never been to NYC--biggest city i've been to is mineapolis which is shy of 3 million for population if I recall. Any thoughts on how to travel cheaper? I've tried all the online travel sites.

In october... I can't post anymore details because last time I posted anything, it was construed as advertising and I am certainly not doing that.
If you dont mind like a 30min train ride- stay in new jersery- just across from new york city- nice hotels at or at least close to what you can get in new york but about 70-90 bucks a nite cheaper. Back before all this bad happened in new york would stay by the airport- come into town on a thurs or friday-all luxury type hotels but not full price.
