NFL Picks.....

NC_Yank profile photo

I love this time of year.......weather is getting nicer, kids are back in school.........but most of all, football is here.

My pick of course will the the Panthers and the Colts in

the superbowl...............even though the Patriots own Peyton Mannings brain and will probably make it to the superbowl........again.

Patriots over Raiders tonight......no brainer.

    Big Raider fan...

I say the same thing every year...

    Oakland in the Super Bowl!

Got my wish a few years ago, it still hurts!

    Yes, good points.

The Pats are just an awesome team unit. More focus seems to be on the team instead of the individual, which is almost nonexistent in sports today. They sure are fun to watch.

Just happy to have the season here again, wish I could see a live game in L.A. though...

    Take care,

Falcons, for NFC Champs...assuming of course Vick lasts through the season.

The way they played last week, I doubt it. Seattle had their number......same with Phily. This is what is so awesome about football..........any team can win on any given day............more often then not it comes down to heart and turn overs.

As a panther fan, I can tell you about injuries.
We lost 70% of our scoring players last year and we
still ended up winning 6 out of the last 7 games.

With that said, it does effect your play. We are without
Kris Jenkins for the rest of the year (again), Lucas and
Witherspoon were out and we ended beating ourselves
    in Miami.

With the exception of Vinatari, Kasay is the best field goal
kicker in the NFL. I was throughly disappointed by the last
play calling by the Panthers yesteday. We should have kept
the ball on the ground and then have Kasay come in at the
last moment and sealed the game.................as was the case with New England against the Steelers.

Either way, it was stupid turnovers that did us in.

I will admit that Atlanta has gotten to our players head......but then again........every team has one like that.

The best part about Monday is looking forward to Sunday.

    Hey Jeff,

Congradulations are in order for your Seahawks.

I was correct about my predictions....

    "Pittsburg over Denver......

Seattle vs. Carolina.............injuries and turnovers will decide this one. "

Once DeShaun Foster was out with a broken leg and of course a banged up defense from the Chicago game.......you could tell from the first quarter who had the game.

Not to take away anything from Nick Goings......but he is not fullback material.

Seattle brought their "A game" for sure and Alexander showed why he was the best running back this year.

It was funny (sad) to see Steve Smith being covered by 3 or 4 guys...............fortunately for Seattle we didnt have any running backs which allowed them to do such.
But that is the way the cookie crumples and it also shows the importance of getting home field advantage as well as staying healthy........(luck and circumstances on the health part)

Pittsburg is healthy and strong........it should be a good game.......I predict Pittsburg will win it though......probably by three points.

One thing I did find amusing if not annoying........was the officials................I think they had to have a consensus to make a decision on any and everything. You could tell that the officiating from the Pittsburg v. Denver game was on their mind. All in all they did a good job.

    Good luck.........and enjoy.

That was a great game........between Carolina & Patriots.
It has been ranked nbr 6 of all time Superbowl games.

Cincy vs. SanFrancisco has to be in the top 3......my book
    it was number 1.

Anyway, I predict the outcome will be decide by more of field position then anything. That was what happen with Carolina and Patriots.........Kasay screwed up on a punt or kick off which put the Patriots at the 40. I think his time is at hand..........however personality wise, he is one of the finest football players in the game.

Hasleback has his A game going and I dont think he will make any turnovers........it will be fumbles if anything.

Anyway, good luck to your Hawks.....

I seriously doubt that Alexander is going anywhere, although putting him in Panther blue would be nice. (smile).

I predict that you guys will be back in the play off picture next year as well. The division you all are in is pretty weak and I expect Seattle to add to those areas in which they are weak.

I would like to see Carolina pick up a veteran running back but I dont see it happening right now. Our secondary and receivers are solid.....we just lack running backs..........that or they are injury prone to the point we can not rely on them past 3 or 4 games into the season.

It was a good run...........look forward to next year.

PS. Gastonia is about 40 minutes from me.......what sort of work do you all do?

    Hey Jeff,

I recently bought an FJR1300..........yeah, real sweet.
I just got back this evening riding out through the country.

Kannapolis is about 15 minutes away from me.
Im out toward Mt. Pleasant but the mailing address is Concord.

Yeah, I am trying to get some friends to tag along with me up to Deals Gap.......however I want to go during the week when its less crowded............and less maniacs.

While I know the FJR will fly and I like twisties, I have no desire to eat asphalt by pushing the bike or myself to the limit.

I may head to Sturgis this year with my father inlaw............although he had rideen in all 48 states (mainland of course), he has never been to Sturgis SD. I have been twice but it was back in 83 & 84.

I recently read an article about the Deuce vs. the Vegas........both are nice but the rider preferred the Vegas.

    Definitely a sharpe ride.

The street bikes are nice but my back can not handle them as long............the street rockets kill my wrist............needless to say it game down to the FJR or a BMW.

The FJR was about 5k cheaper and I feel a better ride.

Anyway drop me a note if you get in the area....
