Gov Grants - Good Or Scam?

Hi All,
On TV this week an infimercial boasts a confrence about how they will help you get a government grant to help purchase property. ... Yea, so I blew four hours listening to there brain wash. To my suprise, it wasn't all B>S. There was some actual valid facts. I know as an idividual we can apply through the Gov agencies, and try for the grants or loans for free. Good Luck. This company will guide (mentor) you through the red tape.
What will help qualify you and for which sepcific loans.
i.e...HUD will qualify this property based on the handicap or elderly section 8 tennant that they will place in your hud home. Thus we are helping the gov get rid of a property & help out an ssi type individual, and we all win.
Bill Gates, Ross Perot, Donald Trump all get gov grants all the time. ect... ect... ect...

Just give us a small protion of any down payment money that you've been struggling to save & we give you counceling (mentoring) through the grant writing process. Qualifications, black ink, special fonts and sizes. Professional grant writing companies charge $8000. to 12,000.00

Has anyone tryed this type of approch to investing, or has any feedback on the Grants or low % loans?

Thanks

It seems to me that your question isn't about wether or not the grants are a good deal, but whether the grant writing service that you are considering is worth it. My suggestion, before you give them any of your money or commit any of it, check them out thoroughly. Get references, and check them out. check with the better business bureau, how many complaints filed etc.

It's just my opinion, but when you go to bed with the gov't. they are in charge not you. Many times, the regulations and restrictions involved make it seem like "free" isn't as good a deal as it first seemed. I'm not indicating that you shouldn't go that route if it's available to you, but be aware that it takes time, and is alot of work. Just be sure you know what you're getting into.

    Good luck,
    Jeff

Just go to http://www.firstgov.gov/ and you will find what gov grants are all about.

Grant writing services for just us regular folks serves no purpose and they do what you can do for your self.

SBA has free coaches for small business owners to use as well.
