Anyone Been Approached To Do Robert Allen Mentoring Program?

Sandbahr profile photo

Just wondering if anyone on this site has been approached through the Robert Allen organization do be personally mentored by their training organization. Has anyone here done that? Heard of anyone else who has done that? Have you been called after ordering any of the courses or books? If so, what happened?

Yes, I sat through their pitch a few weeks ago. I think its a waste of money. Take the same $5,000 and go do a deal.

I actually went so far as to buy some of his ebooks for like $69. After that I recieved about 2 phone calls from his "corporate offices" asking me if I wanted to be mentored. They told me that I could recieve a personal mentor for a 1 year period and the cost was around $6,000. I told the "mentor" no thanks. Although the books were "entertaining." If any1 is interested in Allen's book, let me know and I'll send you the file. Last I heard, Allen was banished from Australia.

I bought those same ebooks for $39.00. Two of them seem okay, the rest were just short phamplets mostly advertising his products and his mentoring program. That's when they started to call me to see if I qualified for their mentoring program. As soon as they knew that I had at least one credit card that had more than a $6000 line of credit I qualified! I bet that if I wouldn't have had one they would have had to "move on" to a more qualified candidate.

I've talked to a guy from his mentoring program twice. Supposed to talk to the "director" tomorrow night. I understand why they want money, they want to make sure you are serious, but it is hard to hand over that kind of money when you have to beg, borrow and steal it so to speak and you just don't really know what to expect and what kind of mentoring would you get. Local? Someone from Utah? He did volunteer a guarantee on my money, that I'd make every penny back, which is a lot more than the guy who called me from Robert Shemin's office offered earlier this year (when I asked him, he told me there were no guarantees in business, I told him if your mentoring program was any good you could guarantee that I'd make my money back). I really don't know what to make of it. Robert G. Allen says he wants your story to promote his method, that's fine, I just wonder what the clincher is. And maybe that's why he has Mark Victor Hansen (Chicken Soup for the Soul) now, to give him more credibility). Wish I knew, I'd love a good mentor to help me kick up my REI a notch!

    Ginnie,

No one wants you money "to make sure you are serious"...people want your money so they can pay for their cars, food and houses! Don't be silly or naive.

If you want to "kick up my REI a notch", stop talking to these bozos on the phone and get out there in the market place and buy a house.

    ALL,

What do people think a mentor does? Do you think they FIND houses for you? Do you think they get your financing? Do you think they come talk to the seller? Guess what? They don't do any of these things. They are just a person to ask questions to and get advice. WOW!! Does the sound like anything else you know? Maybe a certain website.

I just bought his books over the weekend and spent $69 on his sites. They have called me today trying to get 5000-6000 for the first level of mentoring or 11000-15000 for the best level. They had me going for a while there but after reading this post I am thinking it over. They act like they might not even be able to choose me yet and will not tell me what I will be gettting for my money except for coaching that will make me rich. I am disappointed now.

I agree with you, it is a localized situation in some real estate markets such as the California market.
