Setting Up Own Maintenance Company

We have a maintenance guy we have been using for the past year. We have been 1099 him at the end of the year and are entertaining the idea of starting a new maintenance company that would work on our properties solely. Is there a tax benefit to doing this?



Another concern is lets say I rent the props under company ABC and do maintenance as XYZ. Should I ever need to withhold sec deposit due to damages am i allowed to be a principal of that maintenance company?



Sorry for open ended questions just curious on how others do this
