I don't know if you're still looking, but check out ****Must Reach Senior Investor status before posting URL's*** or ****Must Reach Senior Investor status before posting URL's*** to search for property management companies that at least are professional/diligent enough to stay on top of latest trends and learn from best-of-breed. Hopefully that will at least give you a place to start from.
Otherwise, call a couple real estate agents in the area and ask them for a referral.
Last month, I had to pass on some great investment properties in the Scranton/Clark Summit area as I could not find property managers in the area (I live 2 hours away). The closest I got was a RE company that at one time did, but for some reason did not find it profitable to continue doing so.
Hope you have better luck than I did.
I have never used this service, but www.Respond.com seems to have a clearing house to match property management with landlords.
