How does a sales price not get recorded? I see benefits from that.

I often look in the "Homes Purchased" section of my local paper. On numerous occassions I have seen listings such as:

    L. Adams to B. Jones, 123 Apple Street, no purchase price recorded.

How can a purchase price not be recorded?

Depends upon the county/state on what info is posted or not.

Quit claim deeds could be "no consideration" deeds, perhaps citing "$1 and other valuable consideration".

Could be a trust deed or an interspousal deed as well.
