Missing Washer & Dryer
A friend was a section 8 tennant which was moving out of state from a rough neighborhood in Florida, the landlord told her to just leave the keys in the mailbox. The landlord didn't go to the house until December 2nd, but she had moved out and left the keys at the end of her lease on November 30th. When the landlord went to inspect the keys were gone along with the washer and dryer. The landlord is claiming an $1,100.00 loss and my friend will loss her section 8 unless it is settled. What would you do? Thanks in advance for all replies

Well, if that is what the landlord wanted, what can he say? It seems like a reasonable reason the keys and w/d are missing...a complaint like that has to go through sec 8...i'd tell them what the landlord said to do you did...the sec 8 people are fair....if they say its your friends fault...pay up.
