Minnesota Eviction Process

Can anybody help me out with the Minnesota Eviction Process for non-payment of rent? I sent a 14 notice to pay rent or quit by certified mail. I am not 100% sure if 14 days is the correct number. I am not sure what my next step is...I assume I will fill out a form to take the tenant to court. I am not sure what form or what court. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have posted 5 day notice to quit or pay, 14 is a lot. You are supposed to put it on the front door, for everyone to see, works well because it embarassas the hell out of them. They never stay posted more than a day...i wonder why? But i guess certified is more official.

Next you need to go to Small claims court, file the paperwork and get a court date. I know that one will need to be certified sevice or sheriff delivered. Its about $150 here in New Orleans.

Maybe you can make a deal with the bums to get off your property. I know it can be difficult to deal with dead beats....but at one time you trusted them with your $100k++ property. Good luck
