Landlord Breaking Lease With Tennant

dusterbuster profile photo

I have a small business, in which I rent space for it.

I pay for my rent. The electricity and water, and heat are included.

I need the electricity to run my business(dry laundry that is dirtied at work). I need hot water to supply services for my customers.

The landlord gets upset with me, and turns off my hot water supply and the use of my dryer.

My lawyer writes the landlord to say not interfere with me or my business.

It takes a police officer to go with me to request landlord to turn on electricity, for lights and dryer and the hot water.

Hot water supply is turned back on, about 1 hour later, but the electricity to dryer is never turned back on.

I request by letter and e-mail for landlord to turn it on, even after lawyer has notified landlord.

Am I able to get out of my lease because of landlord tampering with business?

Depends on the lease. Is it for a residence or a business? Since you already use a lawyer and this is a legal question.....ask him/her.
