Is Fear Of The Re's Bubble Burting True, Or....

lboogie profile photo

Is it all from pessimistic people? If the topic of bubble bursting (such as the dotcoms) is to be true in the very near future, how can one protect themselves as rei? I didn't know what forum to ask this. Saying that, I am of the buy and hold philosophy, which to me, doesn’t need to worry that much about any bubble. I am in this for the long haul. Plus, if it did burst, that would lead to more renters. What are your thoughts? Plus if a bubble did burst, wouldn’t that lead to better deals? Then we would reap later down the road 10-15 years?

Thank you in advance.

For us buy and hold people, bubbles are not negative, you may not be able to pull out equity as fast as you would like to or plan to but bubble bursting does mean more renters and better deals for cashflow properties.

Did you ever hear of Maslow's Triangle? On the very bottom of most important things is Food, Water, and Shelter. It is the base to any existance.

In short, people ALWAYS need a place to live. America is still growing so we can be very certain that REI is ok for a long while.

My opinion is that there is going to be a "burst" in this real estate market - HOWEVER, and it's a big however, I think it will just lead to flattening out of the market, down a total downturn such as http://www.the.com burst... Real Estate is REAL - http://www.the.coms were not really REAL. Maybe it's my economics background, but I think http://www.the.coms were made-up-money... Real Estate will always be desireable...

    Good Luck!
