HUD Home In Texas Help Please

MrBossman profile photo

Hello

I won a bid on a HUD home, in Texas. HUD has removed all the houses in Texas from the market for Hurricane Katrina victims. My question is if I ask for an extension am I putting deal in danger of being cancelled? My closing date is 9-19-05; my bank says they need more time. Below is the statement from HUD about Texas houses.

In response to the critical need for housing for those displaced by Hurricane Katrina, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has removed all HUD-owned REO properties in Texas from the marketplace. These properties are unavailable for sale until HUD approves their re-listing in the market. Thank you for your patience as we assist Americans displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

Thanks

In my state there was an automatic extension I was entitled to purchase. You should read your paperwork carefully and see what is in it.

    Sure why not renew it.
