Code Violations
I bought a house 1 year ago. I bought the house zoned as residential, but the attic was already livable and with a tenant. City inspector cited me for violating
city code in regards to ceiling height. Has anyone in Chicago or elsewhere had this problem?... I have the option of letting go of the tenant and remove small kitchen + plumbing to attic, but not sure this is the best option since I could use the rent as income. Does anyone know of a way to legally convert a attic to a legal unit?....
