What is the best way for someone to learn this business? I am in Dallas and want to learn how to buy/ sell or broker notes. Books, workshops, or local mentors? Any advise is appreciated.

Talking to people, this forum and books, from there you can decide if you want to spend the bigger money on workshops, seminars, programs, etc.

thanks so much for your advice, that is pretty much what i have been doing and i feel like i am learning alot. As far as actually finding note though, is court research a pretty good way to start? thanks again
Our local county recorder makes a grantor/grantee index available on line. You can look up recent recorded documents by grantor or grantee name.
Our local county tax assesor also makes basic tax property information available by address or APN. This gives you property characteristics and owners name. You cannot pull current title with liens or title histories. You need a title company to do that for you.
