Is It Possible To Close In 3 Weeks?

dreamkey profile photo

We are negotiating a great deal through a private auction on a single family home worth 300k, purchase price is 250k. The seller wants to close in 3 weeks. Is it possible to close a deal that quickly?

Any recommendations on lenders?

Appreciate the help!

If you are getting financing, a lot of the time will depend on you. Is your credit clean, do you have good financial documentation that you can access quickly, etc. I have written contracts and had the buyers close within three weeks with financing, but they had already been pre-approved. Without having started the process, three weeks would be really tight. Oh course, every mortgage person you talk to will tell you that they can close by ..... name the date you what.

Also, how do you know it is a great deal. Have you had an independent appraisal and inspection? Do not sign any contract that will not allow you an adequate inspection period (say 7 day) and get an appraisal during that time period.

Thanks for all your great advice. I did find a local lender and the process is going very smoothly with a closing date scheduled within 3 weeks.
