Not To Be Petty...

nebulousd profile photo

but here is what I saw in tinman's signature line

real estate investor since 1988, mortgage broker since 1991,licensed in Va. Fla. Pa. Mi. I like to find creative solutions for my real estate headaches before they become problems. Most importantly, MOVEMENT DOES NOT EQUAL PRODUCTIVITY

I think the mention of his license and what states he covers is a bit much...I look at it and see an ad, what do you see?

I would say this is a grey area. What do you guys think??

    My opinion.

He is a mortgage broker if you look at his profile he has a web site as such.

He is advertising when he puts this information under his signature. Even the "see my profile" under the name should not be allowed.

Let just keep the info under the signature to things like "I am a newbie and my momma don't love me."

    It is an ad!

I think some of these signatures are getting out of hand. Its one thing to add a line that is thought provoking, however I call it advertising when you are selling your self.

I thought the profile section covers this, not the signature.

    NC,

Excellent point. It is getting out of hand.

I have had to argue with some people after I send them a private message explaining that they need to remove the advertising under their name.

    Solution anyone?

The best solution may be to eliminate the signature altogether.

I don't see that the signature really serves any useful purpose. I may be wrong, but if so, I just don't get it.

BTW, Joel, I updated my profile info a few months ago to add an FDR quote as a signature line, but it has never "taken".
