    John,

What was it that Joe did in which you felt his opinion or advice should not be allowed?

(I am not familar with the thread you are talking about)

I rarely float over to the Law Forum. I personally see the forum used as you put it for anecdotal advice. I think anyone using the internet as their primary source in making a legal decision is a fool. Street corner lawyers are a dime a dozen........nothing different on the internet.

I do believe though that one does not have to be a lawyer to give an opinion, legal or other, if they have actually dealt with such a situation AND there is case law or principle that applies.

I get more frustrated with those that are just too lazy to do a little reseach. After all, many of the answers to questions asked in the forums can often be found in a matter of minutes on the net. Im sure Woodsong can testify to that.

I think his issue is being taken to task in a public manner verus PM.

Again, I have not seen his posts in which he is giving bad legal advice.

    regards

    woodsong,

Thanks for the info. I started to post here today as well just to give the other Moderators a heads up because I have also been following the thread and along with the accusations, there has been Moderator bashing going on as well for not deleting posts. I was just sitting on it for another day to see where it went.

They are taking up three different forums with this episode, one in the wholesaling and two on the commercial side. I have never heard of this guy but I agree with you that we need to keep a close eye on it before it gets out of hand. Any thoughts on locking at least two to keep it contained to one thread?

I dont think he protrayed himself to be Ronald Starr, in one of the post he stated he was NOT in fact Mr. Ronald Star.

The problem I have is with Mbattal and censorship.
Politicians are notorious for this............if they dont like the truth then lets attack the messenger and have him silenced.
They desire to change the issue to something else.

Three moderators have looked at this post and none of them including myself feel this post is argumentative.......other then the fact that Mbattal is trying to make it so. I am more disturbed by Mbattal and his comments then R_Starr.

It is a separate issue if new members want to take a name that resembles some one else. This is legally done all the time in business. If my name is Roy Starr, am I not allowed to use my first initial and last name.........just because of a famous or well know person has the same last name and first initial.

I do feel that it is not necessary to have post of the same subject in various forums...............but then again, look at the Random Rambling forum...............this forum clearly states that it is a forum for everything but Real Estate.......yet most of the post pertain to real estate questions.

I definitely agree with everyone that the posts should not be deleted. My central question is whether or not this guy really is a scammer.

Your points about the login name R_starr are very good points, his name could in fact be Roy or something. I think it probably is the case that r_starr has an axe to grind. He has 5 posts in the forums...all 5 revolve around Abalos. But- from the evidence it sounds like he has a reason to have an axe to grind.

One thing is for sure, the one poster is friends with Abalos and really, if what was being posted was not true, one would think Abalos himself would be coming here to clear his name in person.

So the question remains, should we put in a group order for his book in hopes of getting a discount or should we just each buy our own?

    FYI,

Abalos has been banned off every board he has posted on.

I have known Ronald*Starr for many years and he is a good friend of John T. Reeds who lists Abalos as OK to do business with. Looks like someone is trying to discredit Starr as he would also support Abalos since Reed does.

Since Abalos cannot post on most boards he is doing a great job here "advertising" with these phony posts as you notice a link to his web site is posted.

Then again maybe someone can explain what purpose these threads serve and why these posts have not been deleted I would think they fall into the argumentative side of the Forum rules.
