Been Nice Working With You.

As most of you are aware I have previously threatened to resign from the moderators group over a “dispute” with John Locke. I felt I was insulted and demanded an apology. None has been forthcoming. Therefore I have asked Joel to remove my name from the moderators list effective at noon today.

So this post is my last opportunity to address you all directly. By the time it is posted and you have any chance to respond I will probably no longer be a moderator and so I will not be able to reply to your responses. I do intend to continue to hang out at TCI and be active in the forums. So I am sure I will be “seeing you around”.

Allow me to be clear about the reason I am taking this step. This is not a defense of Lucius.

I am resigning because John said the following. "I believe you knew it was Olga and did not make this scientific guess by the way you posted."

I believe this statement is different than any of the other statements in the thread. If you look back you will find that all I ever did was ask for the evidence in the Lucius case to be presented in the same forum where the attacks were taking place. In this statement John does not ask for evidence, he says that evidence previously submitted was false, in effect that I attempted to deceive you moderators. That I lied when I told you all that I had pieced together Olga’s identity from available evidence.

I consider that a serious charge. In the end all we have in this “community” is our willingness to be frank with each other. If the advice I give or the actions I take in moderator duties is false then the entire structure of the endeavor crumbles. No-one here is without mixed motives and no-one is capable of seeing their own prejudices but if we knowingly set out to deceive each other then whatever other actions we take cannot lead to good outcomes.

So, this is my reason for resigning as a moderator. I fell like my personal integrity has been attacked. If you cannot trust me to deal honestly with you then realistically you ought not deal with me. This is not about liking or not liking. As Locke himself points out in his signature people will only do business with you if they trust you. In attacking my trustworthiness John has made it impossible for me to stay and do business.

    Mark,

It ain't that easy for you to resign from being a Moderator, fist you have to send me a formal resignation, then I need time to consider it's merits.

Then I will forward it to the convening authority in charge of formal resignations, with my recommendations, so be advised your resignation is not accepted.

The Commercial side of TCI needs your attention and direction, from what I understand you have been doing an excellent job, so for this sites benefit your name is going back up as a Moderator.

Now if you feel the need to become involved in another flaming thread about this matter, please be advised, you will need to submit in triplicate the new form from TCI called Flaming Threads www.1a.c, I also am in charge of flaming threads, so send it in care of my attention.

I really can't understand why I was selected for this position.

    Commercial,

Its unfortunate you feel the way you do......however in my not so humble opinion your reason for leaving as moderator is unfounded.

If I quit a project everytime my feelings were hurt then I would never be finishing
    a project.....yet alone starting one.

I have an idea.........how about John gives you a couple more monopoly houses next to your name and you get one "get of jail" card for free........Im sure John has the power................

Well, John, if I had known it took a special dispensation from you to quit I guess I might have reconsidered the matter.

    Be nice!

All have value in this "Bad Boy Club".

John and me have locked horns in the past - But I got over it and have even learned a few things from this old timer.

The key is simple this service is for helping investors become more successful.

Commercialking I have read your post and I have no doubt you have been a great guide in investors success.

Reconsider your value to this great site and most importantly you are from my most favorite city!

Well come on over any time, JohnMichael. There is still a couple of months of sailing weather.

  • JohnMichael31st August, 2004

I was just in Chicago 3 week ago; it will be another month or so before I will be back. May not be good for sailing but I can always go downtown and tie my self off when the winds blow LOL.

Hey commercial King, did you buy another boat and dock it on the east coast somewhere? Another Hurricane is coming and I wanted to know where not to go.

  • KyleGatton1st September, 2004

Oh and for the record, John locke tried to resign on his 3000th post as well. As you see it isnt possible to resign except for death, and even that will have to be verified.

    lol

  • commercialking1st September, 2004

Who knows, Kyle, I still have no idea where the boat that used to be in Punta Gorda landed-- maybe the hurricane magnet is still in it.

    Hey !!!

I don't know what it is about you guys that you have to pick on a poor farm boy from Indiana trying to make a living in the big city.

Shucks, I am just getting the dirt out from underneath my fingernails from plowing the fields, so go easy on me.

To the KING - Mr BIG, The Man, $Cash$

God created the mule, and told him, "You will be mule, working constantly from dawn to dusk, carrying heavy loads on your back. You will eat grass and lack intelligence. You will live for 50 years."

The mule answered, "To live like this for 50 years is too much. Please, give me no more than 20."
    And it was so.

Then God created the dog, and told him, "You will hold vigilance over the dwellings of $Cash$, to whom you will be his greatest companion. You will eat his table scraps and live for 25 years."

And the dog responded, "Lord, to live 25 years as a dog like that is too much. Please, no more than 10 years."

    And it was so.
God then created the monkey, and told him, "You are monkey. You shall swing from tree to tree, acting like an idiot. You will be funny, and you shall live for 20 years."

And the monkey responded, "Lord, to live 20 years as the clown of the world is too much. Please, Lord, give me no more than 10 years."

    And it was so.
Finally, God created $Cash$ and told him, "You are $Cash$, the only rational being that walks the earth as the best real estate investor known to man. You will use your intelligence to have mastery over all the real estate in the world. You will dominate the earth and live for 20 years."

And $Cash$ responded, "Lord, to be $Cash$ for only 20 years is too little. Please, Lord, give me the 30 years the mule refused, the 15 years the dog refused, and the 10 years the monkey rejected."

    And it was so.

And so God made $Cash$ to live 20 years, then he got married and lived 30 years like a mule working and carrying heavy loads on his back. Then, he did 500 plus real estate deals and lived 15 years as a dog, guarding his investments; then, in his old age, to live 10 years as a monkey, acting like an idiot to amuse his fellow investors.

Just having a little fun with you old timer - Getting sensitive in your old age?

    John Michael,

I understand from one of your students that you advise them to tell the seller to take the house numbers with them so they won''t have to change their address and this will save them money.

Another thing you should quit instructing your students is that when the seller leaves the washing machine with the house, that if they pull the chain what will happen is the laundry load will dissapear, not come out clean as you instructed.

Also to motivate the seller I don't think telling them that most accidents happen within 20 miles of their home and this is why they should sell to you and move to a different home, really works.

The one that really gets me is you telling the seller when they are behind in payments to write a letter stating they were going to send the payment in but they already sealed the envelope.

This way you can stall for time until your monthly unemployment check comes in so you can give them U-Haul money to purchase the house.

Of course I don't live in Missouri.
