Where to fix up MH's

dnmfish profile photo

I have seen quite a few fixer upper MH's in the local paper for dirt cheap that are not currently in parks. As a matter of fact there is one in there today that is FREE. I realize it probably needs quite a bit of work.

My question is if you were to by one that is not in a park and don't want to move it into a park until it is done, where do you take it to work on it. I don't have any land (I live in a neighborhood).

Is your best bet to just go ahead and move it into a park and pay the park rent and rehab it there?

Just curious. Haven't done anything yet, but I'm ready to get my feet wet in this REI thing.

Thanks in advance for your input.

    Single or double?

If it was a single I the buyers an as is price and a fixed up price. Most will opt for the as is price and fix it up themselves. You don't want to pay $2000 to move and another $2000 to fix if it's just an $8000 single wide

If it was a double than fixing it up will be worth while because you'll make more money either up front or over a 5 year (whatever terms you work out) period.
