Site Prep Costs For California

unomateo profile photo

HI,

Does anyone have a good average cost for site prep to install a 1300 sf MH.

These numbers are for a lot that is somewhat flat, but will need a little excavation to make ready for MH

I have these numbers:
Permits: $2000
Electrical hookup, nothing special: $4600
Permanent foundation for home: $11,000
Septic Tank: $5000
Concrete Slabs - walkways: $5000

How much does a water meter cost?
Water is supplied but I think I have to get the city to install a water meter, how does $5,000 sound?

And also I heard permits run around $15,000. Is my number of $2000 for permits incorrect or did I miss something? The $2,000 is qouted from a contractor

All and all I think the site prep should run around $50,000

Does anyone agree, disagree?

Any help is appreciated....

Thanks

Call you local county planning department on the fees ... never believe second hand advice on fees go directly to the source ... especially when it is YOUR money.

Planning departments (building) and environmental departments (septic) have their fees on building and construction. Check on any "school impact fees", and "road assessment fees", "fire department fees", "perc & mantle testing report & county inspection fees". In some counties the fees are almost endless.[ Edited by cheryllopez on Date 05/10/2004 ]
