Finding A Lien Or Proving That There Is No Lien?

Lennyseleven profile photo

My uncle recently died, he had bought my great grandmother a trailer around 1985, after she moved out we recently tried to sell it only to find out that it shows up as having a lien from Chase bank. They wont help us at all in finding out what the lien is. The lawyer says he is done with it, he has provided a copy of the title which is stamped with the lien from Chase bank dated 1985, so I think it may have had a lien THEN but no longer has one. This is second hand information to me but just wondering the best way to find out about this lien.

thanks

Nick

It would have been my dead uncles debt and CHase is being uncooperative.

whose land is it on...if its on yours, send Chase a notice to move the trailer and begin charging them a storage fee every month...being that it is a 1985 trailer it has next to no value, I doubt that they will claim it at all & will now be willing to just resolve your problem in lieu of the storage fees or moving costs that would be incurred in moving it....regards, CWal

A wholeslaer already agreed to buy it, paid half and has already movd it, he wants my grandmother to get the title before he pays her the rest.

It was in a MH park since 85 till he moved it. So check DMV and possibly title company?

I thought debts and liens were extinguish at the close of and estate or probate.
