Disconnecting And Disposing Of Double Wide

stocknre profile photo

Hello,
I am concidering buying a property with a double wide and a detached garage on it in an HOA controlled community in California. Problem is that the home has been gutted by a fire and will have to be removed(to where....the local dump???)? Does anyone know the process in CA to disconnect and dispose of the home( licences, permits needed?)?
Also the approximate costs to get rid of a home like this??
Thanks, in advance, for your input!

call a demolition company from the yellow pages & request a turnkey quote that includes disposal...or call the fire department & ask for referrals...CWal

Absolutely you want a written bid, upfront, before doing anything on this deal.

ROT (ruleofthumb) is deals like this always cost more than you think, more than they should, etc....so just be prepared to gag & gasp then move on.

Tell me about the double wide. What year is it? Did the fire completely burn the double wide?

I have people buy mobile & manufactured homes to place into parks. I have a park owner that lives near you in Alta Sierra who just purchased a park with me in Happy Camp. He does mobile home repairs ... so within reason of the damaged condition he may be interested and if he buys it he will move it off your property.

You can email me (see my profile for my email) and then I will give you his name and phone number for you to contact him directly.

    Thank You.
