i have been involved in ga with fleetwood and unity mortgage on a home/land purschase for over 3 months. I have jumped through every hoop they have requested, survived 2 employees at both companies being fired. I find out the truth lending, committment letter, and purchase letter are basically worthless as no one has comped the propeerty nor has an apprasial been done. we have been so jerked around on this process we are unsure what to do. I have recently been advised the paperwork provided so far is extreemly close to voilation of lending laws and I should hire an attorney [ Edited by cjacobs on Date 09/26/2003 ]

Get a lawyer. You actually have the right to do an inquiry about it. That happened to my sister inlaw, and when she brought the lawyer into it ( with a few calls to the corprate offices ) they had her ready to go within a few weeks. I would just to light a fire under them to let them know you dont appriciate the hassle. Some will do it for no charge. Hers didnt charge.

If you can, drop this company and find another. I find that if the company does not respond, it just gets worse and worse. It is intentional. Expect things to continue like this through closing and beyond.

I have done it both ways. I have stuck with the dog and I have switched. It is better to switch, because then you may find a good company and you can do business with them in the future. On the other hand, sometimes you have to stay because you don't have the time to find a new company. I am still fighting with a bank that is screwing me in new ways each year. But I just bide my time, and when the time is right I will refinance to a better company.
