Marketing With Post Cards

sirjenia profile photo

Hello every body,

Does anybody use Microsoft Mail Merge for sending out post cards to a "may be" motivated sellers?

I use it with letters, but I can not figure out how to use mail merge with Avery 8387 post card template

( 4 cards on one page).

All four cards receive the same info from Excel.

Thank you,

Jenia S.

just print your post cards from www.clubflyers.com 150 dolalrs for 5k......and then just label them, or better yet have www.custom-mail.com send them for you.

before you print them out, if your going to be labeling the yourself, preprint a first class mail permit $150 at the PO, or if your using www.custom-mail.com then use their insignia

IbuyHousesInc I think you always have worthwhile advice and questions.

I also think this is an excellent topic!! I can read a real estate book at almost light speed.

I will print out and probably buy everything mentioned in this topic.

Considering the fact that basically everything we do now days is sales oriented (from getting someone to sell us their house at our price to actually selling the home again) I would suggest a book by Jeff Gitomer called the "little red book of selling" he has a website too called www.gitomer.com The guy talks the truth

Anyone with a good list for marketing books?

The secrets of of Question Based Selling by Thomas Freese! It held my interest which most books cannot do, I tried a few of the techniques they seem to work..

Example..couple walks into the home, I greet them, but they do not respond...she comes walking down the stairs..."guess what?" She answers "what" which is almost an impulse...appliances are also included! She now is talking to me..simple way to start a conversation by asking a basic question..this book describes techniques such as that. Rick

I think "Soft Selling in a Hard World", by Vass, is a very good read. Great for learning the mechanics of talking to people.

Another thing I decided to implement into my continuing real estate education is the use of scanner pens. At first I used to read a ton of books and lay them to the side. On occasion I would dip back into them. The second thing I started doing was always reading with a highlighter and typing up whatever I highlighted. The highlighter thing is to time consuming so I just recently ordered a scanner pen. A scanner pen is an electronic pen you can use to scan text in books for download on your computer. In a sense it’s like I’m writing my own book with excerpts from many different books

wow, i gotta catch up on my technology, that sounds like a thing i need to pick up ASAP

  • GQ30th November, 2005

This is actually old technology which wasn’t as big as people thought it would be. I remember a couple years ago I saw an ad in a magazine for scanner pens. I was investing at the time so I didn’t think much of it. The other day the memory flashed in my head I went searching for on. Everybody I talked to thought it was a good idea but had never heard of the product. I eventually ended up at staples and they carried it on their website.

There seem to be to types one is the type where you can write in ink and the pen saves into a digital format (with the use of special paper). The other type is the type I’m talking about where you should be able to use it with any book and save the text go back and put it on your computer. An example of what I’m talking about is the C-Pen.

Yeah I can think of a whole bunch of uses for the RE investor.

    C-pen is really thorough:

C Read - read and remember
C Read allows you to collect and save printed text, by using C-Pen as a highlighter to mark the text you want to save. The digital camera captures the text and saves it in C-Pen´s memory as documents that can be transferred to your PC or PDA using cable or infrared (IR) communication.
C Direct - read text into a PC document
C Direct enables you to copy text from a paper source via C-Pen directly to the cursor position on your PC screen. Your C-Pen acts as a smart hand-held scanner, transferring characters from a printed source directly into any Windows application.
C Dictionary - read and translate in a second
Your C-Pen includes one complete dictionary, either pre-installed or available to download from our website. Want to know what the word means? Simply slide C-Pen over the word or phrase and get an instant explanation. You can download additional dictionaries from a number of international suppliers from www.cpen.com.
C Address - your address book
C Address is an application within C-Pen for storing and looking up names, addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses. C Address is synchronized with Microsoft Outlook on your PC. It means wherever you are, you won´t be out of touch.
C Write - edit or take notes
C Write allows you to write characters by using C-Pen like an ordinary ballpoint pen. C-Pen can follow its own movement over a surface and recognize the movement as a letter or numeral. This process can be very useful when searching for a contact in C Address or editing.
C Beam - beam to your PC or Palm™
Transfer text or data - for example phone-numbers and textfiles, directly from C-Pen to your PC or Palm™.
C Calendar - organize your appointments
C Calendar is a handy way to organize your life.
