How Can I Find Cities With Job Growth AND Land Scarcity?

bnwbaron profile photo

I have seen a lot of things affect a real estate market. Weather, population growth, leisure activity, demographic shifts…….But the two things I see really seem to impact a market are land scarcity and job growth. Just look at the Vegas/Henderson market of the last few years. That had both.

Take for example, Lake Havasu City Arizona……No land, not so much job growth. A great market for appreciation the last couple years, but imagine what it would have done if there was better than average job growth.

So can we put our heads together and find a way to pinpoint places where job growth meets land scarcity?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts and useful responses. Brian

The new Entrpeneur magazine has an article on the best cities for entrepeneurs -- food for thought!

Interesting topic. I am confused though about Lake Havasu. When I drove there recently there seemed to lots of land in all directions. Perhaps I am missing something. What makes you say there is a shortage of land?
