Can I Signa Lease To Option Contract Without My Wife?

jlsayan profile photo

Hello to all out there.
I am in a very difficult situation because I can't get my wife to sign the contract. A friend is offering me a good deal but, since the property is in my wife's name and mine and she is giving me a hard time in signing it, I want to know if it is legal just for me to sign the lease to purchase contract, until I convince her to sign the purchase agreement when it comes to it.
The thing is my friend needs this contract to present it to his lender so we can close on the purchase when funds are approved. Is there a legal way to force her to sign, or Do I need to go to a lawyer.
This opportunity is to good to let it pass.......
Thanks,

a state specific real estate law question is best answered by competent legal counsel licensed in your state. It's a small price to pay to be able to sleep comfortably at night.

    Thank you Dave.
I never thought I had to seek for legal advice against someone I have trusted so many years.
At least I have learned something, "When it comes to business, you are your best partner"
