Hi...I currently live in Utah...but I'm from the Dallas/Ft Worth area. I lived in Plano for a year in a rental property about 4 years ago. When looking for a house in that area, I found about 20 or so for rent...most out of my budget because they had pools/hot tubs/more sq footage than I needed, etc. Anyway, there were 2 or 3 that had an option to buy at the end of the lease....back then I knew nothing about REI and just wanted a place to live that was not an apartment. I found a nice 3bd 2bath place on Saddlehead Drive in Plano...might still be a rental that you could inquire about buying if you find it....I don't remember the address. Anyway, I looked for houses for about a month and ran accross 2 or 3 lease options, so I know they're out there. Something you might try is locating some property management groups and asking them about properties they manage that have an option to buy at the end of a lease. The name of the company that managed the house I lived in was First Preston Realty located in Plano. I use Regent Realty located in Richardson to manage a rental I own in Lewisville. Good luck on finding what you need!

Welcome - I don't think you are going to have any problems finding a nice lease option deal in Plano - there are just tons of 'em in the Daily Disappointment (Dallas Morning News and in the shopping guides like Greensheet and Thrifty Nickel. Good Luck and congrats on your promotion to Dallas.
